According to Tesla, autopilot introduces new features and improves existing functionality to make your car safer and more capable over time.
Autopilot enables your car to steer, accelerate and brake automatically within its lane. Current Autopilot features require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle autonomous.
While all new Teslas come with Autopilot as a standard feature, Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) are upgraded packages.
All three are self-driving systems designed to make driving a lot easier, but Teslas aren’t autonomous—they still require the driver to be attentive behind the wheel.
In the video, Musk and Cathie Wood discuss how Tesla develops its autopilot features and why they are unique.
