Thiamin (thiamine), or vitamin B1, is a water-soluble vitamin found naturally in some foods, added to foods, and sold as a supplement.

Thiamin plays a vital role in the growth and function of various cells. Only small amounts are stored in the liver, so a daily intake of thiamin-rich foods is needed.

Thiamine is extremely important in the prevention of complications of diabetes. Benfotiamine is a fat-soluble version of thiamine.

Previous research has shown that thiamine use can prevent the formation of harmful by-products of glucose metabolism, reduce oxidative stress and improve blood vessel function.

In this video, Dr. Ahmet Ergin (SugarMD) is talking about Thiamine or Benfotiamine.

You will be surprised to hear how thiamine can affect your blood sugar metabolism and other thiamine benefits.
