Ray Dalio famously founded Bridgewater Associates out of his two-bedroom apartment in 1975.

Since then, he has amassed a net worth of $17 billion while building Bridgewater into the world’s largest hedge fund, which now manages roughly $150 billion in assets.

Along the way, Dalio discovered a set of unique principles that have led to Bridgewater’s exceptionally effective culture, which he describes as “an idea meritocracy that strives to achieve meaningful work and meaningful relationships through radical transparency.”

With the principles, Bridgewater culture thrives on radical transparency and radical truth.

Through these concepts, Bridgewater empowers employees and managers to make the best decisions and speak up when they think something isn’t working.

Dalio believes that a country should have principles. In this video, he gives his advice to the U.S. president about how to make the country better and stronger.
