In a recent study, researchers found that a new drug compound may help treat artery clot and heart rhythm disorders.
The finding may help develop a new treatment for heart disease.
The research was conducted by a team from the Kuban State Medical University.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 17 million people in the world die of heart disease.
One type of heart disease is heart rhythm disorder, and atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common one.
The symptoms include a racing, irregular heartbeat, dizziness, fatigue, shortness of breath and chest pain.
AF could lead to various complications, including dementia, stroke and heart failure.
The currently available drugs for AF have strong side effects, and patients need to be closely monitored and have their doses adjusted on a regular basis.
In the study, the team found that the compound (SS-68) may improve the conditions of reduced blood flow to the heart. This condition is usually caused by obstructed arteries.
Moreover, the compound could help prevent a wide range of heart rhythm disorders, including AF.
They tested the SS-68 compound on animals and found that it has a strong effect in treating AF.
It is able to bring the electrical activity of the heart back to normal and is more effective than other drugs.
In addition, the compound could reduce the episodes of epilepsy.
It could help prevent clogged blood vessels where it is reported to have successfully increased the coronary blood flow.
The team also found that the compound may help reduce the harm caused by a heart attack.
They suggest that the new findings may help develop a new treatment for AF and improve heart health in people with a high risk of heart disease.

The study is published in Research Results in Pharmacology.
